12/3/2025 -More than 20,000 young people have participated in the different proposals organized in 2025 by the Fuengirola Youth Department. In this period, events, activities and workshops of all kinds have been promoted to respond to the demands of this sector of the population. Among others, the celebration of Youth Day in La Loma park, the Perrock 2025 festival, the opening of the Caseta Bariloche at the Feria del Rosario or the event of Los 40 Sessions and Alvama Ice at Marenostrum Fuengirola to close the summer stand out.

The councilor responsible for the area, Isaac Vargas, has taken stock today of the activity registered in the current year in the aforementioned department, highlighting that “2025 has been a record year for the Youth Department. We have organized a total of 72 activities throughout the year, which have had the participation of more than 20,000 young people.”

Like every year, in addition to the activities and events, from September to June, the Youth Department continuously offers workshops for young people, from 6 to 35 years old, some of them already well established, such as the Singing and Theater workshops, and others more innovative such as the Artificial Intelligence or Oriental Cuisine workshops. “In many of these workshops we have been forced to increase editions due to high demand.”

The field of technology is one of the most attractive for young people and along these lines, six workshops have been organized through the Cibervolunteers association, with the participation of 90 people. In addition, events have been held such as the Game Party that is being held this weekend at the House of Culture or the first edition of Indie Show Game, “an activity related to the creators of independent video games that was held in April at the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo and was very well received.”

In the sports field, different initiatives have also been organized, such as the Skate, Surfskate, BMC workshops, “but above all, two great events stand out: on the one hand, the Santa Costa Games, which made the most of every space in the Fuengirola Free Area to develop calisthenics, graffiti, urban sketching activities, 3×3 basketball tournaments, paddle surf and kayak polo exhibitions; and on the other hand, Youth Day, which we celebrated in La Loma park and which included K-Pop contest, training exhibitions in the outdoor gym, batucada workshop and a soccer tournament that, due to high demand, was transformed into a summer league.”

Excursions are one of the activities most in demand by young people. A dozen of them have been organized, which together have had the participation of more than 500 young people. Sierra Nevada, the Cádiz Carnival, the beaches of Bolonia and El Palmar or the cliffs of Maro have been some of the destinations that have been visited in 2025.

Vargas has also highlighted the great reception that the activities related to the Rosario Fair have had, such as the sevillanas workshop, which had more than 60 participants; the opening of the Bariloche booth, which has established itself as the reference space for young people during the patron saint festivities, as well as the Young People’s Night at the Peace Palace with Spok Sponha, which brought together more than 500 spectators.

The Youth Area has also promoted massive events in 2025 such as the Perrock Festival to benefit animal shelters, which brought together more than 2,000 people at the Fairgrounds, or the closing of the summer with Los 40 Sessions and Alvama Ice, which had a massive influx of young people, who for only two euros could enjoy Marenostrum Fuengirola with a show specially designed for them.

Finally, Isaac Vargas highlighted that “2025 has been a year of consolidation and also of growth, but above all it has been a year of massive participation of young people in organized activities. We have expanded the offer, we have organized many new activities, quite a few of them at the suggestion of the young people themselves and that has resulted in more than 20,000 people participating in the 72 initiatives programmed throughout the year.”
