11/26/2025 – The Fuengirola City Council today approved the budget for next year 2026, which will serve to promote the economic development of the city and guarantee social care for residents. The Government team’s proposal has gone ahead with the favorable votes of the Popular Party councilors and the contrary opinions of PSOE, Vox and Hacemos Fuengirola.
The amount, both income and expenses, amounts to 113,665,000 euros, which turns out to be 3.4% more than what is included in the economic document that is still in force in 2025. The most notable chapter is that of investments, which on this occasion has increased its amount by 63% compared to the current year.
In this regard, the councilor rapporteur and municipal head of the Treasury, Rosa Ana Bravo, has highlighted that it will serve to finance the start of important strategic projects that are electoral commitments of the current Government team, such as the tender for the drafting of the project and the work of the Santa Fe de Los Boliches-Antonio Basilio municipal stadium and the creation of an underground car park under its entire floor with capacity for about 1,000 vehicles, among other actions.
“It is a level, balanced, responsible and ambitious economic document that we have prepared thinking about families, our elders, our young people, those who make Fuengirola an exemplary city. We will continue to reinforce our two main management axes: safety and cleanliness, essential pillars of a modern, safe city, with quality of life. We will invest in more equipment, more personnel, new technological tools and improvements in coordination to continue being one of the safest cities, thus guaranteeing the tranquility of all our neighbors,” he said. explained.
In this way, the accounts include other initiatives such as the entry into operation of the Youth Center, the development of the Municipal Housing Plan, the Municipal Security Plan, the creation of more ecological islands or more improvement works on various facilities owned by the council.
Likewise, Bravo has highlighted that taxes will be frozen again, “for another year”, including the waste management tax, “because we are not going to apply the ‘garbage’ that the Government of Spain intends because the legal and technical reason supports us: with what we already pay we cover the cost of the service.”
In this sense, as Mayor Ana Mula already anticipated in the presentation of the accounts, she has insisted that the amount allocated for social investment is “unlimited” and that the necessary adjustments and modifications will be made to respond to the needs of all Fuengirola residents.
“The money of the people of Fuengirola is to create to further reinforce the security, order, cleanliness and beautification of the city; to improve the quality of life of the residents in all neighborhoods; to create more facilities and improve the existing ones; to provide ourselves with more and better work tools and public services; and also to help those who have the most difficulty getting ahead.
