The Fuengirola City Council develops a special cleaning plan for the Fairgrounds and adjacent areas after the Rosario Fair

10/14/2025 – Fuengirola City Council is developing a special cleaning plan for the Fairgrounds and adjacent areas after the Rosario Fair. This was announced today by the councilor for the sector, Carmen Díaz, who explained that yesterday was completely dedicated to intensive cleaning of the fair grounds, while today and tomorrow a deep cleaning of all the surrounding streets is being undertaken.
“Once the Fair is over, as it could not be otherwise, on the 13th we dedicated it above all to the intensive cleaning of the Fairgrounds and during today and tomorrow we are going to focus on a shock cleaning that is being carried out in all the adjacent areas,” explained Carmen Díaz.
In this sense, the councilor has indicated that “specifically, throughout today we are acting on the streets Pedro Romero, Manolete, Belmonte, Gallito, Matías Lara Larita, Paco Madrid and in the surrounding areas of the Núcleos, such as Cubero Yiyo, Feria de Jerez and Feria San Fermín streets. Tomorrow we will act on the streets Frascuelo, Monaguillo, Antonio Chenel Antoñete and Bombita.”
As Díaz explained, “during the Fair we have had a special cleaning plan, which has had the reinforcement of around thirty workers in the usual service, who have worked both in the Fairgrounds and in the surrounding areas. The residents of these nearby areas suffer in a special way on these days of the fair from the uncivil acts that unfortunately occur.”
For this reason, the mayor has requested citizen collaboration from the residents of the area “so that they remove their vehicles so that we can carry out more intense cleaning throughout the street. Signs have been placed on the streets where we are going to act so that there is no parking on these streets during the time that the cleaning is carried out.”
Díaz has pointed out that “the residents of these areas have to have a much deeper cleaning once the Fair ends and that is what we are doing both today and tomorrow.”
To conclude, the councilor thanked “the citizen collaboration of the neighbors, because we know that it is not comfortable to have to look for parking in an area further away from the usual residence for a few hours, but it is done for the benefit of improving the hygiene of the area, which after a week of fair needs it.”
