More than 26,500 Fuengiroleños will benefit this year from the aid of 30% for the fertilizer of municipal taxes

To access this aid, neighbors must be registered in the city, pay the first term and not have debts with the administration. This measure is for the City Council an economic effort of more than 4.5 million euros

10/2025 – The councilor responsible for the Finance Area, Rosa Ana Bravo, has reminded at a press conference that the City Council maintains the aid line for the payment of the Real Estate Tax (IBI), Tax of Mechanical Traction Vehicles (IVTM) and the Environmental Waste Management Rate (GEMER). This system allows neighbors not to pay 30 percent of their receipts, provided they are registered in the city, have paid the first term and not have debts with the administration. In fact, as indicated by the mayor, after the computer data crossing to verify compliance with these requirements, this year a total of 26,557 taxpayers will benefit from this discount.

“As every year at this time, we realize the result of the computer crossing that the City of Fuengirola performs in order to apply 30% of bonuses to the IBI taxes, the garbage and the rate of vehicles. Thanks to this procedure, a total of 26,557 taxpayers of our municipality have benefited,” said Bravo.

In this sense, the mayor has highlighted the economic effort that this measure means for municipal coffers. “Specifically, it is a total of 4,508,000 euros that the City Council assumes entirely with the 2025 budgets.”

It is a measure that “meets the commitment acquired by this government team and by our mayor to support families, relieve the fiscal burden of our neighbors and favor that the benefits of responsible management reach citizens directly.”

In this sense, Bravo has advanced that “this support policy will also be maintained in the municipal budgets of next year 2026, thus reaffirming the will of continuity and stability of public accounts.”

Second term to collection

The mayor has also recalled that “the second term of the payment of taxes is already colored and the taxpayers will receive in their homes the warning note, which although it is not an obligation by the City Council, we make an effort to bring the administration closer to the neighbors and that with that letter they can refer to the municipal ATMs, to the banks or emails to pay the second term. On the other hand, the neighbors who have their taxes domiciled, on October 17 of this second term ”.

To conclude, Bravo has thanked the collaboration shown by the neighbors and recalled that “domiciled the receipts is the most advantageous option, because in addition to benefiting from 30% they can also accept 5% discount for soon payment and can already be carefree from the receipt, since it passes in time and form by the bank”.
