The Royal Hall of the City of Fuengirola will host the colloquium talk ‘Equaling Rights’ for World Alzheimer’s Day

9/2025 -The Royal Hall of the City of Fuengirola will host on September 12, starting at 6:00 p.m., the colloquium talk ‘Equaling rights’, on the occasion of World Alzheimer’s Day. This was announced this morning by the Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, and the president of the Association of Family members of Alzheimer’s patients of Fuengirola and Mijas, Paqui Lebrón.

“From the City of Fuengirola we set the hand for another year to the collaboration with the AFA association in the development of activities for the commemoration of World Alzheimer “In this act will also be used to recognize the caregiver of the year.”

For his part, Paqui Lebrón has thanked “the City of Fuengirola, because they are always with us supporting us and also encouraging ourselves to organize more things, something that we thank you especially. This year, to commemorate World Alzheimer’s Day, which is on September 21, we have prepared a series of acts, which this year have the motto ‘Equal Rights’”.

In this sense, Lebrón explained that this ephemeris “celebrates its 35th anniversary this year and we are going to celebrate it in a special way. The first activity we are going to have is a coloquio talk in the Royal Hall on the 12th with free admission, which will be very interesting. Mariló Almagro will participate, which is the national president of AFA; the lawyer Joaquín Fernández Navarro, which is collaborator for many years; of the panel of experts of people with Alzheimer’s.

Act program for World Alzheimer’s Day

In addition to this colloquium talk, AFA has scheduled a series of events to commemorate World Alzheimer’s Day that will take place on the 15th, with the installation of a green bond on the facade of the City Council; On the 16th the dinner ‘The Late Summer Soirée’ will be held in Miraflores Golf for the benefit of AFA; While on the 19th, informative tables and petitioners will be installed in different points of Fuengirola and Mijas and a manifesto will be read in the Costa del Sol Health District, located in the El Boquetillo market.

The acts for World Alzheimer’s Day will continue on September 20 with the beneficial show ‘Forever Betty Missiego’ that will be held at the Palacio de la Paz from 7:30 p.m. Tickets will have a price of 10 euros and can be purchased at the AFA headquarters of Agustina de Aragón street; In the beneficial store of Palanreros Street or at the House of Culture of Fuengirola, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On September 21, which is commemorated on World Alzheimer’s Day, different public spaces of Fuengirola and Mijas will be illuminated. In addition, this year as a novelty, from AFA a children’s drawing contest has been launched called ‘Let’s not forget our grandparents’, which is aimed at children and primary children.

On September 24, a coexistence breakfast will take place with the Sociocultural Association of ‘Mijitas’ women and with the Mijeña Association of Friends of Literature. Finally, to close commemorative events, on September 26 a night spinning day included in the programming of ‘Fuengirola will be held in the form of whose collection will be destined entirely to AFA.
