9/9/2025 – The La Baila Fisheries Club, in collaboration with the City of Fuengirola, has organized for September 14 the XI children’s fishing workshop from the shore. This was announced this morning by the Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, and the spokesman of the aforementioned Club, Manuel Sánchez, who have explained that it is an activity included in the sports program ‘Fuengirola in form’, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 am on the beach of El Castillo.
“In the Fuengirola programming in a way, the children’s fishing workshop organized by the La Baila Club, which throughout the year develops a magnificent work to promote fishing in its different modalities and bring this sport to all the citizens of Fuengirola,” It puts a bait in the hook and the tricks that both professionals and fans and volunteers of La Dance always give it. ”
It is an activity that is totally free for participating children, but it is necessary to make a previous registration in the social networks of the fishing club dances or calling 656 674 756, “because even if it is free, the club needs to know how many people will participate in order to provide them with the sports material necessary to develop the activity,” said Rodríguez.
For his part, Manuel Sánchez explained that “the intention of this workshop is for children to start fishing. We provide them with the entire necessary equipment: the cane, the reel, the skewer, the bait and all the material.”
Sánchez has pointed out that “when we arrive at the beach, the first thing we do is give a small explanation to the people who are there, both parents and children. We indicate the way in which you are going to fish, the hooks that we are going to use, the type of bait, the species that we can capture on the beach and how the cane is thrown. In addition, all the catches that are made are returned to the sea.”
