8/29/2025 – The Fuengirola Park of Spain will be the stage, next Thursday, September 12, of a day of Croché and Patchwork, an activity open to all citizens that will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The initiative has been presented this morning by the Councilor for Parties and Traditions, Isabel Moreno, together with the teachers Paqui Miralles (Croché y Punto) and Natalia Infantes (Patchwork), who will share with the public their knowledge and techniques of these crafts.

Moreno has highlighted the support of the City Council to this type of proposals. “We always support the groups and people who want to share their hobbies and keep our traditions alive. In this case, a group of women passionate about Croché and Patchwork will be the protagonists of an afternoon in which attendees can discover and learn these arts.”
During the day, the public can start in the use of needles, know different types of yarn and techniques, as well as make small pieces guided by the teachers. Among the proposals, highlights the elaboration of a scarf that combines crochet and patchwork with cowgirl fabric, an example of creativity and fusion of styles.
For its part, Paqui Miralles has underlined the social and therapeutic value of these crafts. “Beyond creating unique pieces, croche, the point or patchwork allow us to share, disconnect and laugh together. It is a time that becomes true therapy for many women.”
Along the same lines, Natalia Infantes, Patchwork professor and president of the WQ Association (World of Quilter), thanked the consistory support. “It is a very important initiative for the population and for associations like ours. We work on the recovery and recycling of old pieces of crochet, which instead of discarding are transformed into authentic artistic jewels.”
The appointment also coincides with the celebration of the International Day of Croché, which makes this day a special opportunity to approach two arts that unite tradition, creativity and well -being.
