8/2025 – The Local Police of Fuengirola collaborates with the Civil Guard in the control of aquatic motorcycles to guarantee the safety of the bathers. Both bodies have already carried out several joint operations, so far in summer, to supervise that these vessels do not invade the bathing area and ensure compliance with the regulations within the boats themselves, such as the use of life vests and the status of these utilities, among other issues
“We have the safest beaches in Spain, as the AEDAC organization has shown it, which is responsible for granting the blue flags, and which has distinguished our rescue and lifeguard service as the best in the country. But, by legal competitions, the municipalities cannot act in what happens beyond the bathing area, that is, of the yellow buoy inward. They work in this coastal sector, with the Civil Guard.
In this sense, the municipal head has explained that this working relationship between the two bodies materializes with local agents facilitating logistics support on land to the needs of the Civil Guard, as well as participating in active surveillance with the officials themselves, members of the rescue and lifeguard service, as well as the drone aerovigilance. The infractions detected are notified to the Maritime Captaincy of the Benemérita.
In the same way, the Local Police offers the Armed Institute a trailer to leave the vessels seized in the deposit if they require it, as well as the possibility of performing breathalyzer controls in the sports port if they understand that some vessel pattern has drunken symptoms.
Likewise, the members of the Civil Guard regularly patrol in the high seas line of the Fuengiroleña coast to ensure that there are no regulatory breaches by the drivers and holders of these vessels. Not surprisingly, in the last operation, carried out a few days ago, its responsible inspected eight water motorcycles, of which five were sanctioned for invading the bathing area and three for not having the documentation a day.
“Again, the collaboration between security forces, in this local and state case, pays off in pursuit of citizens and the image of one of the great attractions that Fuengirola has as a tourist destination: its beaches. Beyond the competences, what worries us is the security of the citizen and we work together so that in that bureaucratic division there are no slits that you can undermine this security.
