The Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola will offer its traditional Andalusia Day concert in the Los Boliches neighborhood
This year, Plaza de Andalucía will be the scene of the concert starting at 12:00 p.m. Before, at 11:00 a.m., the Andalusian flag raising ceremony will take place.
2/20/2026 – The Councilor for Culture of the Fuengirola City Council, Rodrigo Romero, reported this morning about the concert that the Municipal Music Band will offer on the occasion of Andalusia Day, on February 28, at 12:00 p.m., in the Plaza de Andalucía in Los Boliches. In that same location, the ceremony of raising the Andalusian flag and interpretation of the anthem of the autonomous community will be held beforehand, at 11:00 a.m.
Romero has highlighted that the concert for Andalusia Day is a traditional event in the city’s cultural programming, which pays tribute to the autonomous community through a repertoire specially selected for the occasion, which highlights the richness and Andalusian musical identity.
On this occasion, the recital will have a program structured in a single part that combines marches, pasodobles and Andalusian dances. The repertoire will open with the march La flor de Sevilla, by John Philip Sousa, and will continue with the fantasy suite La Alhambra Iluminada, by José Faus Rodríguez, composed of six movements inspired by the Nasrid monument.
The program is completed with Capricho andaluz, by José Martínez Rücker; the pasodoble El Niño de Jerez, by Cleto Zabala Arámbarri; Sevillanas y soleares (Andalusian Dances), by Germán Álvarez Beigbeder; and the pasodoble Málaga, ideal land, by Perfecto Artola Prats
The Municipal Band will be directed by Alfredo Alarcón Campoy and will have Cristóbal Machuca Osorio as concertmaster clarinet.
To conclude, Romero has invited all residents to attend this commemorative concert that, once again, will serve to celebrate Andalusia Day through music, highlighting the talent of the Municipal Band and the Andalusian musical heritage.
