The Fuengirola City Council transforms the old Los Boliches library into a study room with more than one hundred seats
The Francisco de Quevedo library, located in the Los Boliches Mayor’s Office, will open its doors next Monday, January 19, as a study room, with uninterrupted hours from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The space, which has more than 300 square meters of surface, will gradually expand the number of seats
14/1/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council has completed the transformation of the old Francisco de Quevedo library in Los Boliches into a study room intended to provide students with a suitable environment for preparing for exams and carrying out their academic tasks. This was announced by the mayor, Ana Mula, during a visit to the facilities, in which she was accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, and the deputy mayor of Los Boliches, Rosa Ana Bravo.

As explained by the councilor, the implementation of the current Gloria Fuertes municipal library allowed this space to be freed up in the Los Boliches Mayor’s Office, which opened the possibility of giving it a new use. “We value the need to have more study spaces in the city and we saw in this location an ideal opportunity to respond to that demand,” he noted.
In this sense, Mula has highlighted that the venue, with an area of more than 300 square meters, has been completely readapted. “We have renewed the furniture and reorganized the space to create, in the first phase, a study room with more than one hundred places, with the capacity to continue growing and increase the number of available positions,” he indicated.
The new study room of the Mayor’s Office of Los Boliches will be available to all residents of Fuengirola, although it is especially designed for residents of Los Boliches and Los Pacos, due to their proximity.
“We are going to provide it with better resources and expand the places gradually, but the most important thing is that we already have a new study space, open uninterruptedly from eight in the morning until ten at night,” the mayor concluded.
