Fuengirola will have a new Judicial Headquarters located in the Santa Fe de Los Boliches Stadium

Following the agreement signed today between the City Council and the Junta de Andalucía, the Consistory will build the new offices and the regional Administration will pay a fee for 30 years. The facilities will have more than 7,000 square meters and will end the dispersion of headquarters in the Judicial District

12/19/2025 – Fuengirola will have a new Judicial Headquarters located in the Santa Fe de Los Boliches Stadium, as announced today by the mayor Ana Mula and the Minister of Justice, José Antonio Nieto. Both leaders today signed an agreement by which the City Council has committed to building these facilities, taking advantage of the remodeling of the aforementioned municipal equipment, while the autonomous Administration will pay a fee for the use of the same for the next 30 years.

“It will soon be two years since we signed the protocol to build new courts in our town. A single headquarters to replace the current ones, manifestly insufficient and obsolete for the needs of our Judicial Party and our neighbors. Today we materialized that agreement, after years of negotiations and overcoming technical problems, to announce the new Judicial Headquarters it will be in the remodeled Santa Fe de Los Boliches Stadium,” said the councilor, who also thanked the interest shown by the regional manager when negotiating and make this agreement possible.

Thus, the local entity will publish, in the coming days, the tender for the drafting of the project and the remodeling work of the aforementioned municipal sports facility and the creation of a parking lot with 1,000 spaces under its floor. There will be a space with a total area of 7,273 square meters for the new courts, which will bring together all the services of the Fuengirola-Mijas Judicial District that are currently dispersed in four locations in the Fuengirola town. Specifically, the presidency of the Court of Instance, and the sections of Civil, Instruction, Violence against Women, Civil Registry, Fiscal Office and Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences.

The document signed by the municipal and regional representatives establishes that it will be the City Council that promotes and finances the works, while the Junta de Andalucía will pay a fee for 30 years for the use of the space, which will allow the City Council to more than recover the investment made and the building will always be municipal property. In total, the Ministry of Justice will pay 18.5 million euros.

“Therefore, we fulfill our commitments and respond to an obvious need of our population. Together, Fuengirola residents, the City Council and the other administrations advance in the transformation of our city and in achieving the New Fuengirola”, concluded Ana Mula.

Likewise, the counselor highlighted that the agreement reached is “a clear example of loyal collaboration between administrations, a formula in which everyone wins: the City Council, which will have a building it owns; the Board, which will have adequate judicial facilities; and, above all, the residents of Fuengirola and Mijas and the legal operators, who will be able to provide and receive a better public service.”

Furthermore, he pointed out that “while this project becomes a reality, we continue to act to guarantee decent facilities, with an investment of close to a million euros to improve the energy efficiency and accessibility of the current judicial building, financed with European funds, because Justice cannot wait.”

Fuengirola is a Judicial District and provides service to the municipality and the neighboring town of Mijas. Its offices are currently divided into up to four buildings and premises spread around the El Boquetillo neighborhood. Currently there are about 178,600 people by law, although the figure is higher due to the high number of people who visit both towns and need this public service.
