The Fuengirola City Council approves the forecast of the ordinances that will be promoted or modified during the next year

The 2026 Regulatory Plan, approved unanimously, includes up to 44 modifications and proposals related to topics such as Innovation, Finance, Cleaning, Mobility, Internal Regime, Housing or Urban Ecology

12/19/2025 – The Plenary Session of the Fuengirola City Council today approved the 2026 Regulatory Plan, a document that includes the forecast of the ordinances and regulations that the City Council plans to promote or modify over the next year. According to what was stated in the plenary session, the plan includes up to 44 proposals and regulatory modifications, and has been unanimously supported by all political groups with municipal representation. This approval complies with the provisions of Law 39/2015, on Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.

The spokesperson for the government team, Rodrigo Romero, highlighted during his speech that “for the third consecutive year, the Regulatory Plan incorporates all the initiatives proposed by the different political groups and covers a wide range of regulations, always with the aim of improving them.” In this sense, he stressed that these modifications “will result in better service to citizens, greater clarity in administrative procedures, an improvement in the ability to respond to residents’ problems by municipal workers and an update of the rules to adapt them to the changing needs of society.”

The document includes new ordinances or modifications in very diverse areas of municipal life, such as the regulation of the use of personal mobility vehicles, sports aid, the occupation of public roads, the removal of abandoned vehicles, as well as the Cleaning and Citizen Coexistence ordinances, among others.

During the plenary debate, Romero encouraged the opposition groups “to develop the proposals they have presented and not to remain only in good words”, urging them for these initiatives to “materialize in work throughout the next legislative year.” “I hope that in the next twelve months we can debate and advance on all the issues that have been put on the table today,” he added.

After its unanimous approval, the 2026 Regulatory Plan will be published on the Transparency Portal of the Fuengirola City Council, with the aim of facilitating its consultation and promoting citizen participation in the development of future municipal regulatory initiatives.

Congratulations to athletes

The Plenary Session of the Fuengirola City Council has also approved, in its ordinary session in December, an institutional motion to publicly congratulate several athletes from the city for the merits achieved in different sports competitions held recently.

Thus, Mayor Ana Mula has congratulated, on behalf of the municipal corporation, the gymnast of the Fuengirola Rhythmic Club Helena Alcántara Fernández, for the extraordinary achievement achieved in the Iberdrola Individual Base Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics, held in Madrid on November 29 and 30. At only nine years old, the young athlete from Fuengirola has demonstrated exceptional maturity, talent and dedication, proclaiming herself the Spanish Champion in the Ball modality, Benjamin category, standing out among 62 gymnasts from all over the country. Her tireless effort, her perseverance and her passion for rhythmic gymnastics are a true example for everyone.

Likewise, the councilor congratulated the local athletes Dionisio Palencia Portilla and Francisco Torres Rodríguez, members of the La Baila Fishing Club, for their brilliant participation in the XI Spanish Championship of Sea-Coast Autonomous Teams, Master Category, held from December 4 to 7 in Mallorca. The people of Fuengirola were proclaimed Runners-up of Spain as members of the Andalusian National Team, and Dionisio Palencia Portilla also achieved promotion to high competition, a milestone that reflects their effort, dedication and sporting excellence.
