About María Velasco
With more than twenty years of experience as a psychiatrist, both in the public and private spheres, María Velasco has learned from her patients and their families that, in addition to treating psychological and emotional suffering, it is essential to work on its prevention.
In his outreach work, Velasco insists on the importance of taking care of mental health, an aspect that is often overlooked compared to the attention dedicated to preventing physical illnesses or social and economic difficulties. The psychiatrist remembers that addressing one’s own psychological well-being and that of our environment allows us to avoid one of the biggest public health problems and causes of disability in the world: mental disorders.
