10/12/2025 – The Youth Area of the Fuengirola City Council has organized a free workshop to learn notions of Japanese through manga and anime. This was announced this morning by the councilor of the branch, Isaac Vargas, and the teacher of the Waku Waku academy, Maridó Rodríguez, who explained that it will be taught on December 19 in the Colores building, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and registration is now open through the Citizen Card.

“Today we announce a new activity included in the Christmas programming of the Youth Area. This time it is a novel activity of interest to the young people of our city. It is a workshop to learn Japanese through manga and anime, which we offer in collaboration with the Waku Waku academy,” explained Vargas, noting that “participants, from 14 years old, will be able to learn basic concepts of Japanese and not only the language, but also its culture and traditions.”
Regarding registrations, the mayor has indicated that they are already open through the Citizen Card. “I remember that there are limited places, so we advise people who are interested to register as soon as possible.”
For his part, Maridó Rodríguez explained that “in the workshop that we are going to give in collaboration with the City Council, we are going to discover very interesting aspects about manga and anime related to the Japanese language, among other things, writing in Japanese, some everyday expressions, onomatopoeias and some aspects of Japanese culture.”
