Fuengirola welcomes Christmas with the lighting of the artistic Christmas lighting
The Municipal Nativity Scene and the exhibition ‘The Magic of Christmas’, in the City Museum, have also opened their doors today
The City Council has installed lighting elements in all the city’s neighborhoods with 2.5 million LED points. As a novelty, Plaza de España and Plaza Pedro Cuevas welcome new and spectacular designs this year.

Fuengirola received Christmas in a spectacular event that took place in the Plaza de España and included the performance of the children’s choir of the Hermandad del Rocío de Fuengirola, which performed an exclusive Christmas carol dedicated to the city, accompanied by the choreography of the Chassé dance academy. The event continued with a Christian music concert by Unai Quirós, Amanecer, Brotes de Olivo and 5 Misterios.
Previously, Mayor Ana Mula has also inaugurated the Municipal Nativity Scene, prepared by the Brotherhood of Rocío and included in the exhibition ‘The Magic of Christmas’, which is shown in the City Museum and which also houses the exhibition of school nativity scenes that are made each year by the students of the city’s educational centers.
This year, the City Council has installed lighting elements in all the city’s neighborhoods with 2.5 million LED points. As a novelty, both Plaza Pedro Cuevas and Plaza de España present new designs. The bowling plaza is home to a striking and colorful grove of cherry trees, while in the downtown plaza an impressive forest of light and color has been installed, designed exclusively for the city.
Thus, the City Council’s planning reaches all the neighborhoods of the city thanks to the 440 arches, 155 decorated street lamps, 4 grouped elements, 13 illuminated facades, 70 floor figures, 1 3D pine tree, 10 illuminated signs, 200 garlands and 133 decorated natural trees. In total more than 2.5 million light points.
The spectacular artistic lighting has begun to shine today and will be operational until January 6. The lighting schedule, agreed with the members of the Commerce and Hospitality Board, will be from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on weekdays, and from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on holidays and the eve of holidays.
