The Fuengirola City Council expands the sports offer of Parque de La Loma with the creation of a 3×3 basketball court
The new facility is now available to the public next to the climbing wall after the completion of the works. It joins other sports facilities in this green area such as seven-a-side football, paddle tennis, volleyball, handball, a bike circuit, running, climbing and an outdoor gym.
11/20/2025 – Fuengirola City Council has expanded the sports offer at Parque de La Loma with the creation of a 3×3 basketball court. This was announced by Mayor Ana Mula, who visited these facilities together with the Councilors for Sports and Urban Ecology, Julio Rodríguez and José Sánchez, respectively, after the completion of their creation works.
“A month ago we came to announce it, and here it is. Basketball lovers now have a place in the city’s main park to practice this sport. It is a spectacular court, with an innovative design that offers more life to this venue, which is in continuous evolution,” explained the councilor.
Thus, the work began a month ago, and despite the rains that have delayed its start-up, it is now available for use and enjoyment. The work has been carried out by the winning company In color we trust SL for an amount of 20,570 euros.
The intervention consisted of the creation of a 3×3 court with the official measurements for said discipline and with an anti-vandalism basket, as well as the installation of a separating mesh. This is located next to the climbing wall.
In this way, the new field joins other sports spaces that this green area already had, such as the seven-a-side soccer field, three paddle tennis courts, one handball court, another volleyball court, a running track, a pump truck circuit, a climbing wall and a modern outdoor gym. In this sense, Mula has advanced that “we are already working to continue providing the park with more spaces to practice sports and thus promote healthy living habits.”
This is a new action by the municipal government team to offer sports lovers, and especially the youth of the city, a place to practice these good habits, and in this case, basketball. The Great Park of La Loma in Fuengirola has an area of almost 30,000 m², of which about 16,000 m² are dedicated to green areas. It is the largest recreational space in the city and has been adding new sports facilities since its launch.
