Alejandro Caña and Amanda Lanetoft win the VIII Fuengirola Half Marathon
It has been a test with a historical participation record, with more than 2,500 runners between the 21 kilometer race and the 5,000 meter race.
11/9/2025 – Alejandro Caña, in the men’s category and with a time of 01:09:06, and Amanda Lanetoft, in the women’s category and with a time of 01:25:06, have won the VIII Fuengirola Half Marathon, held this morning. More than 2,500 runners – 2,000 in the half marathon and 520 in the 5 kilometer race – have participated in this test, which has represented a historical record of participants in this sporting event, the largest organized by the town’s City Council.

The Half Marathon started at 9:30 am, from the Fairgrounds. The route, completely flat and very attractive for popular and experienced runners, has passed through the main points of interest of the city: Puente de la Armada, Castillo Sohail, Plaza de Toros, Paseo Marítimo, Los Boliches and a fairground full of entertainment.
Of the total of 2,520 runners, 789 were women and about 372 were foreigners from 30 countries in Europe, America, Africa and Asia. Among them are participants from Canada, the United States, Argentina, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Morocco, South Africa and China, among others.
In addition, the Half Marathon has also broken its volunteer record, with 300 people collaborating in this edition, compared to 250 in 2024 and 150 the previous year.

This is the most important sporting event organized by the Fuengirola City Council, and therefore, the town. In addition to its main sponsor, the real estate developer Top Gestión, it has had different collaborating local companies, which have also participated in the post-race party, as well as in the Corridor Fair, held yesterday, Saturday, in the Plaza de España.
Likewise, apart from the runner’s bag, which contained a sublimated technical t-shirt, socks, neck gaiter, original bracelet, health belt, energy bars and other gifts, the test has offered services such as a cloakroom, showers, toilets and a playroom to facilitate the conciliation of the runners.
