Nearly 500 children participate in the Fuengirola Municipal Summer School during the month of July

Mayor Ana Mula visited the Azahar school this morning, one of the centers where this initiative is being developed along with Valdelecrín and Santa Amalia. This is a measure aimed at promoting the reconciliation of Fuengirola families and at the same time allowing students to have fun during the summer months.

7/8/2026 – Nearly 500 children participate in the Fuengirola Municipal Summer School during the month of July. This was announced this morning by Mayor Ana Mula, who visited, together with the Councilor for Education, Carmen Díaz, the facilities of the Azahar school, one of the centers where this initiative is taking place this summer along with Valdelecrín and Santa Amalia.

“The conciliation of work and family life in Fuengirola has been a fact for many years thanks to different initiatives, such as the Municipal Summer School that we have been promoting every year in the summer. From the Fuengirola City Council we continue working to offer a complete and quality service to the families of our city, where children, in addition to having a good time during the summer, learn through games and activities. It is aimed at children from three to twelve years old and it carries out an educational project in which the participants enjoy recreational activities such as gymkhanas, excursions to different locations in the city, crafts, guided games… that will be adapted to the ages of the participants,” explained the councilor.

The Summer School service is provided, on this occasion, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the option of a morning classroom from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and a dining room from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is aimed at children from three to twelve years old and it carries out an educational project whose theme will revolve around the concept ‘I can be whatever I want to be’, aimed at the abilities of the little ones so that they discover what they are capable of and gain self-confidence.

The company in charge of providing the service is Vaiana, which has also employed 27 people to develop this initiative. Prices range between 147.25 euros for simple registration and 293.66 euros with dining room and morning classroom.

“It is important that parents know that there is a service that the City Council makes available to them if they have to work when their children are on vacation at school, so that the children can develop recreational and creative activities. This is a service accessible to all Fuengirola families, even for those who have difficulties to pay for it, as they are helped partially or entirely by social services. No child is left without Summer School in Fuengirola,” the president indicated in conclusion.
