The Fuengirola City Council will completely remodel Sevilla Street

The City Council has put out to tender this action, for just over one million euros, thanks to a subsidy from the Provincial Council of Malaga. It is a new municipal intervention in this area of ​​the city, which in recent times has seen the Plaza de San José and the one on the corner of San Salvador Street renovated.

6/30/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council will completely remodel Sevilla Street, as announced today by the mayor Ana Mula together with the mayor of Infrastructure, José Sánchez. The work has recently been put out to public tender for a value slightly over one million euros thanks to a subsidy from the Provincial Council of Malaga.

“Since I have been part of the city government, we have made a significant effort to renew all the roads in Fuengirola. It can be said that we have acted in all neighborhoods and areas of the city and that our city presents a current state, modern and in line with the needs of the 21st century. However, the passage of time and the use of the roads make continuous actions, repairs, and when necessary, remodeling necessary. One of the streets that requested a most urgent intervention is Calle Sevilla. They asked for it, and with right, its residents, and we are going to address this need,” explained the councilor.

Thus, the tender price amounts to 1,000,347.56 euros and has an initial execution period of 168 days. Companies interested in opting for this process have until July 22 to submit their proposals.

As far as the action is concerned, Mula has indicated that it involves the complete renovation of the pipes that supply the homes and premises on this road, as well as the more than 300 linear meters of surface length of which it consists. Likewise, the project has planned to maintain the existing parking lots.

On the other hand, the highest local representative has highlighted the commitment that the City Council is making in renewing the public spaces in this area of ​​the San Cayetano neighborhood. Thus, so far in his mandate he has allocated more than 700,000 euros in three other remodeling interventions.

Specifically, the remodeling of the Plaza de San José, that of the existing space between the streets San Salvador, Triana and Sevilla itself, as well as the installation of a new water supply network for the Estepona, San Vicente, Goya, Doctor Ochoa and Núñez de Balboa roads.
