05/23/2026. Fuengirola has projected its brand and beaches, nationally, in the capital of Spain. It was a day of presentation of the town’s tourist offer for the entire country, held in the Plaza de Olavide, in Madrid, in which attendees were able to taste a plate of sardine espeto prepared by the local Beach Entrepreneurs Association and enjoy the performance of the local musical group Los Salvajes del Rebalaje.

“We are bringing a little piece of our land back to the capital of our country, to tell all of Spain that we are the best destination to spend a vacation and even to have a second residence. Fuengirola is happy, cosmopolitan, festive, welcoming… it is well-being and quality of life,” said the highest Fuengirola authority.
Thus, the event began with the projection of a promotional video of the city and gave way to the music of Los Salvajes del Rebalaje, which filled this Madrid urban location with dance and joy.
In this way, the 35 espeteros from the Fuengirola beach bars present at the event have prepared around 3,000 portions of this typical dish. Likewise, volunteers from the Harena Foundation – dedicated to combating loneliness in the elderly – have been in charge of managing the drinks bar, the proceeds of which have been used to pay for their social work.
Work meetings
Prior to the event, Mayor Ana Mula, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Rodrigo Romero, and the Mayor of Playas, José Sánchez, have held different work meetings with agents of interest to the municipality.

In this sense, the round of contacts has begun with the Fuengirola Olympic sailing champion and Favorite Daughter of the city, Theresa Zabell, to bring projects of interest to the town; the Director of Operations of Gestagua, Gonzalo Murillo, who has taken the ‘The sea begins here’ campaign, promoted in Fuengirola to avoid throwing waste into the stormwater network, to the capital of Spain. The founding partner of the technology company Nevintec, Juan Carlos Pablo, who is already working on different digital solutions useful for the municipality. As well as with Repsol’s B2B Business Manager, Raquel García, to explore the use of new sustainable forms of energy.
