The ‘Pedro Cuevas Martín’ Sports Awards recognize the work and career of more than 40 athletes and clubs from Fuengirola
The award for the best male athlete went to the Málaga CF footballer Ángel Recio and in the female category it went to the tennis player Olga García Kirillova. The Pedro Cuevas Award went to the Association of Veteran Footballers of Fuengirola and the Sports Legend Award went to Francisco Domínguez Pérez ‘Vallejo’
5/8/2026 – The ‘Pedro Cuevas Martín’ Sports Awards recognized yesterday, at the gala held at the Peace Palace, the work and career of more than 40 athletes and clubs from Fuengirola. Mayor Ana Mula presented the awards to the best male and female athlete, which were awarded to the Málaga Club de Fútbol player, Ángel Recio, and the tennis player Olga García Kirillova. The main award, which bears the name of the Favorite Son and Sports Councilor of the city who died almost six years ago, went to the Association of Veteran Footballers of Fuengirola, while the Legend of Sports Award went to Francisco Domínguez Pérez ‘Vallejo’.
These recognitions distinguish the work in favor of the values of effort and camaraderie that local athletes and clubs represent, as well as the projection they represent for the city.
