5/21/2026 – The City Museum will host from May 28 to June 28 the ninth edition of the collective exhibition ‘Arts’, an exhibition that brings together the works carried out during the course by the students of the municipal artistic workshops of the Culture Area. The exhibition can be visited for free from Tuesday to Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The initiative was presented this morning by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, together with the teacher of the Book Binding and Restoration workshop, Dori López.
“This exhibition has already become a fully consolidated cultural event in our city. We are talking about the ninth edition of ‘Arts’, an exhibition that allows us to learn about the enormous talent and work that is developed throughout the year in municipal workshops,” said Romero.
The councilor also highlighted that “the artistic workshops are part of the cultural identity of Fuengirola, its DNA, promoting creativity and offering a learning space from which professionals from different artistic disciplines have even emerged.”
For her part, Dori López explained that the Binding workshop will present a particularly personal proposal this year. “Twenty-one students have developed a project titled ‘The Bound Memory’, in which each participant has transformed a memory into a unique and artistic book,” he detailed.
The exhibition will allow visitors to explore different creative disciplines and contemplate works of painting, drawing, engraving, photography, ceramics, bookbinding and restoration in the same space, reflecting the artistic evolution and learning developed by the students during the course.
In the Restoration and Recycling section, attendees will be able to discover works focused on the recovery and transformation of furniture and objects, highlighting creativity and the reuse of materials.
The Engraving workshop will show different graphic work techniques such as etching, aquatint, collagraphy or soft varnish, the result of a process of experimentation and artistic creation developed by the students.
For its part, Photography will present images made by both beginner and advanced level students, covering disciplines such as portraiture, landscape, creative photography or reportage.
The Binding will have a special role with artisanal pieces that turn the book into an artistic object, made using traditional techniques and completely manual processes.
In Painting and Drawing, works made with different dry, wet and oil techniques will be exhibited, as well as exercises linked to the study of color, anatomy, perspective and contemporary creativity.
Finally, the Ceramics workshop will show modeling, sculpture and wheel pieces, made in a creative environment in which clay is transformed into art through imagination and manual work.
The hours to visit the ‘ARTS’ exhibition are from Tuesday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday Closed. Free entry. Limited capacity.
