The Fuengirola City Council and the AECC announce the free photography contest ‘Call it cancer’
The objective is to create the 2027 solidarity calendar through images that reflect what cancer is, help understand it and contribute to normalizing it. 4/5/2026 – The Youth Area of the Fuengirola City Council and the Spanish Association Against Cancer call the free photography contest ‘Call it cancer’ to select the 13 images that will make up the 2027 solidarity calendar. This was announced this morning by the Youth Councilor, Isaac Vargas, and the president of AECC Fuengirola, Belén Conejo, who have indicated that the call to present the works will be open from today until June 4.
“We are proud to present this initiative promoted by the Spanish Association Against Cancer in collaboration with the Youth Area to design the 2027 AECC solidarity calendar,” said Vargas, indicating that “the period to participate will be open from today until June 9 and will be accepted, in addition to photographs, drawings, comics, graffiti, to select the images that will illustrate the twelve months and the cover of the calendar.”
For her part, Belén Conejo has highlighted that the objective is to obtain images “that normalize, give visibility and contribute to ending the social taboo of this disease, through everyday acts of the daily life of people who suffer from this disease, as well as the professionals and volunteers who work with them.”
The works must be submitted from today until June 4 by sending an email to fuengirola@contraelcancer.es and indicating as the subject “Llámalo Cancer Photography Contest”. The images must be presented in digital format and in high resolution, with sufficient quality for correct layout and printing in a calendar.
