This Saturday, the Parque de España hosts the VIII Fuengirola Children’s and Youth Book Fair
The event, which will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., includes workshops, book raffles, copy signing, escape room activities, face painting, roundtables, gymkhana… The winner of the IV City of Fuengirola Illustrated Album Award for ‘Pequeñísimo’, Mireia Aleu, will be in charge of offering the opening proclamation at 11:15 a.m.
4/5/2026 – Fuengirola celebrates this Saturday, May 9, the VIII Children’s and Youth Book Fair, which will take place in the Parque de España from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This was announced by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, who pointed out that the event includes workshops, book raffles, face painting, copy signing, escape room activities, round tables and a gymkhana, among other activities.
“This Saturday comes for young people, families and for all those who enjoy literature, the eighth edition of the Children’s and Youth Book Fair that we are going to celebrate in the Parque de España with a festive day around books and a type of literature that we recommend having at home, because they are books that will generate a reading habit among the little ones and that will make it easier for them, throughout their lives, to continue exercising that necessary activity of having a book in their hands and receiving all the good things about being. a reading person,” Romero highlighted.
The councilor went on to explain the main details of the Conference, “which will have a broad and intense program that will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the inauguration, to give way to the proclamation that this year will be offered by Mireia Aleu, the scriptwriter of ‘Pequeñísimo’ winner of the IV International Prize for Illustrated Album City of Fuengirola.”
In addition, the Book Fair will also include municipal workshops inspired by the work of Gloria Fuertes, a book raffle from the authors participating in the conference, round tables with authors of children’s and youth literature, author talks, oral narrative and Escape Room activities, and a gymkhana.
In addition to the Parque de España, the Teseo bookstore will host a badge design workshop (12:00 p.m.), a face painting activity (2:00 p.m.), an illustration workshop (5:00 p.m.) and a workshop called ‘We make our little book’ (6:00 p.m.). For its part, three Escape Room sessions will be held at the Miguel de Cervantes library, also inspired by the work of Gloria Fuertes, which will take place at 12:00, 1:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
To participate in the workshops and the Escape Room it is necessary to register in advance. Registration will take place in the Parque de España from 10:00 a.m. for morning activities and from 4:00 p.m. for afternoon activities.
