The Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo will host the participatory show ‘Imperfecta Mujer’ on March 26
The activity, included in the ‘Fuengirola por Ellas’ programme, will begin at 6:00 p.m. with free admission
3/17/2026 – The Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare of the Fuengirola City Council, Cristina Bornao, reported today at a press conference about the celebration of the show ‘Imperfecta Mujer’, an activity organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day within the municipal program ‘Fuengirola por Ellas’ and within the framework of the actions of the State Pact against Gender Violence. The show will take place on March 26, at 6:00 p.m., at the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo.
‘Imperfecta Mujer’ is an interactive show that combines music, words and collective reflection to place the debate on equality between women and men at the center. Through songs in Spanish—from copla to pop—a space for listening, dialogue and emotion is created around female empowerment, education in values, sisterhood and the eradication of gender violence.
During the performance, the social mandates that have historically been imposed on women are addressed from a critical and often ironic perspective: to be perfect, caring, patient, efficient and always available. The lyrics denounce this demand to become a kind of ‘Super Woman, Super Zen’, capable of reaching everything without complaining, without failing and without showing fatigue.
Throughout the show, the songs become the starting point to reflect with the audience on issues such as mental load, co-responsibility or gender stereotypes that still persist in today’s society. Likewise, the artistic proposal focuses on the social penalty that many women suffer when they prioritize their dreams, their identity or their personal freedom, firmly claiming the right to simply be an “imperfect woman.”
With live music on the piano, the show transcends the traditional concert format to become an open space for dialogue. The musical performance alternates with moments of talk and shared reflection, inviting the active participation of the public and transforming the stage into a safe place to question, get excited and become aware.
‘Imperfect Woman’ is, ultimately, an invitation to look at ourselves without guilt, to take care of ourselves with respect and not give up our identity. A committed artistic project that uses music as a tool for social transformation and the construction of a more real and human equality.
The activity will be led by Macarena Albarracín, a copla performer since 1992 and presenter and host of galas, with experience also in radio and television, accompanied on the piano by Javier Tapia.
People interested in attending can pick up their invitations at the Department of the Elderly, located on Blanca Paloma Street, and at the Equality Area, located in the ‘Colores’ building in Los Boliches. With this initiative, Fuengirola City Council continues to develop the ‘Fuengirola por Ellas’ program, which brings together different cultural, training and awareness activities aimed at promoting equality and the prevention of gender violence.
