The Fuengirola City Council eliminates the Los Pacos overhead lines with the dismantling of the cables and turrets

Endesa has already completed the tasks of eliminating these infrastructures, which cover just over a kilometer of the neighborhood. The City Council undertook the first phase of this action, with the creation of just over 1,000 meters of new underground pipelines.

12/15/2025 – The Fuengirola City Council has eliminated the aerial laying of cables and turrets in Los Pacos, as explained today by the mayor Ana Mula, in the company of the neighborhood councilor, Rosa Ana Bravo, and the councilor for Urban Planning, Rocío Arriaga.

“We fulfilled our commitments to the residents of Los Pacos and to the people of Fuengirola. This action is a promise that I assumed with its residents and is now a reality. When we began, we warned that it was a delicate intervention and that we did not have 100% control, since it was Endesa that, ultimately, had to eliminate the turrets and overhead wiring. It is true that it has taken much longer than we all expected and wanted, but I am happy to announce that “The time has finally come,” said the councilor.

Thus, this intervention consisted of three phases. The first was the creation of the new underground pipelines through which the new lines would run. Work that was promoted by the City Council and financed with funds from the Provincial Council of Malaga for an amount of nearly 1.5 million euros.

The second, completed during the second quarter of this year 2025, was the introduction of wiring in these new conduits and their testing phase. And the last one has been developed during the last month, with the removal of the aerial roof and the turrets that support it, from Sauce Street to the surroundings of Cerezos Street.

The burial process has involved the creation of a 1,331 meter long underground pipeline for the introduction of the new line. This already runs under the ground of seven streets and avenues in the neighborhood in ditches 1.32 meters deep and 1.20 meters wide. Specifically, along the roads: Los Cerezos, Los Membrillos, Finland and Los Pacos avenues, as well as Chumbera, Esparraguera and Sauce streets.
