Fuengirola will celebrate the XXIX fishing contest from anchored boat ‘Christmas Trophy’ on Saturday, December 13
Registrations have a price of 20 euros and must be made at the association headquarters until the patrons’ meeting that will be held on Friday, December 12 at 8:30 p.m.
12/9/2025 – Fuengirola will celebrate this Saturday, December 13, the XXIX fishing contest from anchored boat ‘Christmas Trophy’, which is organized by the El Puerto Sport Fishing Society once again. The Sports Councilor of the Fuengirola City Council, Julio Rodríguez, accompanied by Pedro Núñez, president of the aforementioned fishing association, have presented the new edition of this sporting event. Registrations have a price of 20 euros and can be done at the association headquarters until the patrons’ meeting that will be held on Friday, December 12.
This is a sport fishing contest from anchored pleasure boats, which will be held on Saturday, December 13, on the Fuengirola coast. The departure will take place at 8:00 in the morning from the fishing port market and the arrival at the port is scheduled for around 5:00 p.m.
“We are very happy to present a new event that combines solidarity and sport. In this case, the El Puerto Fishing Club once again organizes a fishing contest from an anchored boat and it is the third time they have done so in 2025, which has been a very special year for them as they celebrate their 30th anniversary and they have not stopped organizing events and collaborating with the Fuengirola City Council,” explained Rodríguez, who thanked “its president, Pedro Núñez, because in addition to these contests they also hold a great work for inclusion with that sport fishing workshop with boys and girls from Fuensocial and it is one of the clubs of which we feel proud when we see the great social work they do.”
The mayor highlighted that “on this occasion the fishermen who participate will be dressed as Santa Claus to create a Christmas atmosphere and give color to this twenty-third edition of this Christmas trophy for fishing from an anchored boat.”
For his part, Juan Sánchez explained that “the skippers meeting will be held on Friday the 12th at our fishing club, the departure will be around eight in the morning and the return will be at five in the afternoon. The weigh-in will be at 5:30 p.m. and, when it is over, we will take a big family photo with all the participants and later, around seven-thirty, we will proceed to the presentation of trophies at our headquarters.”
Registration to participate has a price of 20 euros and will remain open, in the afternoon, at the headquarters of the El Puerto Sport Fishing Society until the time of the skippers meeting. Regarding the prizes that will be awarded in the contest, Sánchez explained that “on this occasion they will not be cash prizes but rather gifts, mainly fishing equipment, for the first five finishers.”
