The Fuengirola City Council approves the urban planning modification that will allow the development of the Cerro del Agua environment
It will facilitate the extension of the current roads, as well as the urbanization of the land that surrounds it, in Los Pacos. The ordinary plenary session held today began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the DANA that occurred a year ago
10/29/2025 – The Plenary Session of the Fuengirola City Council has definitively approved today the specific modification of elements of the General Urban Planning Plan that will allow the urban development of the area around Cerro del Agua, in Los Pacos. The proposal has gone ahead with the favorable votes of the Popular, Socialist and Vox groups, as well as with the abstention of Hacemos Fuengirola. Furthermore, at the beginning of the plenary session, at the proposal of Mayor Ana Mula, its members observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the DANA that occurred exactly one year ago in Valencia, Castilla La Mancha and the province of Malaga.
The councilor presenting the element innovation proposal, Rocío Arriaga, explained that it is the culmination of an urban planning agreement between the owners of the SUNC-13 sector and the City Council itself. This consisted of the City Council pre-disposing of part of the land to build the new Los Vecinos street in exchange for processing the aforementioned innovation of elements of the PGOU that could complete the urban development of the area.
“Currently, the road is already being executed for public interest and as a municipal promotion. The cost of the same must be paid by the affected owners based on their participation percentages and as urban planning obligations that the owners of the sector have. In addition, with this procedure we corrected a series of errors that the PGOU itself contained,” explained the Urban Planning councillor.
The total area affected is more than 75,000 square meters, it will involve the extension of the current Los Vecinos street, the promotion of private homes as well as the enhancement of green areas.
