10/2025 -more than 6,000 people have participated in one of the 23 sporting events included in the programming of ‘Fuengirola in form’, as reported this morning the Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez. Up to 35 clubs, associations, gyms, schools and companies have collaborated to develop the different activities, with which it has sought to promote less popular disciplines such as fishing, as well as inclusive sport for people with functional diversity, with events aimed at Fuensocial and Yaed ‘I support sport’. In addition, solidarity has also had its space with two beneficial activities aimed at AFA (Spinning Night Marathon) and Cudeca (Milla Pedro Cuevas).

“We are very satisfied with the results of Fuengirola in form, which are not others that the happiness of our users and the desire they have shown to do physical exercise. Among all together we have managed to organize in the month of September 23 events of 15 different sports disciplines: football, basketball, cycling, beach volleyball, athletics, zumba, dpum, spinning, qi gong, pilates, yoga, yoga to less popular disciplines such as fishing, with up to three events such as children’s fishing, inclusive fishing and the height fishing championship, ”said Rodríguez.

The mayor has thanked “everyone’s support to make this programming possible, because 35 clubs, institutions, schools, organizations, associations … have worked hand in hand with the Department of Sports. And this is the best way to make a city: to be together and enjoy in common everything we organize. Thanks to all those who have made possible organize so many and so varied events.”

In total, more than 6,000 people have participated in all activities directly. “A joint effort that would be impossible without everyone’s support,” said Rodríguez, who has unleashed events such as Beactive Week, which “managed to gather 520 people freely exercised in Pedro Cuevas Square, with 16 classes for five days to combat sedentary lifestyle. We also promoted sport from childhood with popular games on the street, in the Plaza de España.”

Similarly, the mayor has highlighted the inclusive and supportive nature of this sports programming, which “on the one hand has facilitated the practice of inclusive sport for people with functional diversity with events aimed at Fuensocial and Yaed ‘I support sport’; and on the other, it has raised funds for AFA in the spectacular spinning night marathon and in the Mile Pedro Cuevas for Cudeca”.

Promotion of sports values

The dissemination of sports values, especially among young people, has been another of Fuengirola’s objectives in form, which has included initiatives such as ‘stands in peace’ “with a great follow -up of our four soccer clubs that gathered more than a thousand players, coaches, mothers and fathers who showed that they want to be clean clean, attending to the advice of our specialists, psychologists, national police.
