The City Council encourages the entrepreneurs of Fuengirola to benefit from the aid of the first opportunity plan of the Provincial Council

9/30/2025 – The City of Fuengirola encourages the entrepreneurs of the city to benefit from the aid of the First Opportunity Plan of the Provincial Council of Malaga. This has been announced this morning the provincial deputy and councilor of Fuengirola, Francisco José Martín, and the Councilor for Youth and Employment Training and Creation, Isaac Vargas, who have explained that it is a call for grants to promote the hiring of university graduates and FP graduates. Aid, which can reach up to 70% of hiring costs, can be requested until December 22.

“The first opportunity program has been carried out since 2016 through an agreement of the Diputación with the UMA, the UNED and with the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Malaga and whose objective is to promote employment between people who have just finished their university or professional training,” Martín explained, noting that “this time the budget is 1,700,000 euros, of which 1,100,000 is destined for the hiring of university students. to hire FP students. ”

In this sense, Martín has detailed that “it is important to make this program known in Fuengirola so that local entrepreneurs who are interested can contact the Employment Stock Exchange to be able to hire employees in our town and offer them a first job opportunity.”

The main objective of these first opportunity aids “is to settle the population in our province and that the people who are formed do not have to leave Malaga to find a good job and related to their studies.”

The deadline for submitting applications will be open until December 22 and aid to companies, self -employed and professionals will be granted in a non -competitive concurrence regime, that is, in order to present until it exhausted a budget. Young people have to be under 30 years old (35 in the case of people with functional diversity) and can be hired for a period of 6 to 12 months.

For his part, Isaac Vargas, as a councilor for Employment and Youth, has pointed out that “from the City of Fuengirola we want to send this program to all the entrepreneurs of our municipality, because it is an aid for both entrepreneurs and young people who have just finished their university or professional training studies.”

In this sense, Vargas explained that “last year through this program 94 hiring were made, many of them in Fuengirola. Contracts have a duration of 6 to 12 months, although in many cases young people are hired in the company as one more worker”

The councilor stressed that these grants “can mean to 70% of the hiring costs for the company. From the municipal employment bag we will transfer the information of this program to all the entrepreneurs of Fuengirola and we encourage them to take advantage of this plan, which is very beneficial for them and also for the young people who just finished their studies”.
