9/24/2025 – Fuengirola definitely approves the appointment of Manuel López Ayala as a favorite son of the city. The procedure has come forward today in the plenary corresponding to the month of September, unanimously of all its members.

In this regard, Mayor Ana Mula has stated, addressing her family members, who “I have been lucky enough to share many moments with Manuel López Ayala and I feel very proud to have a neighbor of this human draft, of this professional and personal delivery in any of the projects he has undertaken. Fuengirola pays a tribute for that vital trajectory that has revealed throughout his life; All areas in which he has undertaken an action; delivered”.

During the plenary debate, the spokesman of the government team, Rodrigo Romero, highlighted the contribution of López Ayala to the Fuengiroleña society in areas such as law, sport, culture, politics or history of Fuengirola.

“Your more than fifty years of professional practice, your multiple public responsibilities, your commitment to the training of new professionals, your love for local history and, above all, your permanent availability to help those who needed it, make up an exceptional legacy that honors us all as a city. Lord López Ayala, Fuengirola owes him much. He owes him the formation of generations of lawyers who exercise with the same ethics that you teach you. He owes his contribution to sports and cultural development.

The file in question, unanimously approved by all the political groups of the Municipal Corporation, has incorporated almost 1,400 individual signatures and the accession of social, sports, educational and different local and provincial areas, in addition to the Bar Association of Malaga and numerous professional offices.

“This appointment as a favorite son of Fuengirola is not just an act of justice: it is also a lesson for present and future generations. In a time of individualisms and distrust of the public, your example reminds us that it is possible to serve with honesty, to exercise power with humility and disbelief, and maintain coherence between the proclaimed principles and the lived life,” said the deputy mayor.
