Who visits us knows perfectly that here the rules are to be fulfilled.” It is the assessment that Mayor Ana Mula has made today about the summer she has just finished, accompanied by different municipal delegates councilors, as well as those responsible for the services that have attended the tourist interest points throughout the summer. The Special Safety Device of the summer season, coordinated by the Local Police, has made it possible for importance of importance or the streets, or on the beaches. First, Mula stressed that Fuengirola “remains a safe and orderly place.” In this regard, it has broken down some of the figures of the Special Summer Device of the Local Police, which has worked in the city, since June to early September, and has resulted in a total of 11,165 performances at 10,658 hours of service.

Thus, the agents of this local body have focused a good part of their activity on traffic management, interposing more than 8,500 sanctions and practicing around 150 random controls in all neighborhoods of the city. Fruit of them have been denounced 73 drivers to exceed the maximum allowance rate; 101 for being at the wheel under the effects of some kind of narcotic substance; or more than 1,144 for speeding in the mobile and fixed radars available to the town.

In addition, 7,489 proceedings related to the commission of crimes have been counted, most of them related to articles intervened by transgressing the intellectual property law; 1,723 municipal ordinances infractions; 573 interventions on humanitarian aid; as well as, 61 related to the preventive control of recreational vessels, for which I also want to thank the close collaboration we have maintained with the Maritime Civil Guard.

“It is comforting to know that it works on the prevention of all kinds of incident but also that when any complex circumstance occurs in our city, we have the best responses, with committed, professional and effective agents,” said Mula, who thanked the police staff for the “effort and the great work done.

Zero drowned on the beaches

Similarly, the highest Fuengiroleña authority has referred to the security that has also been breathed on the coast of the city. In this case, no victim had to regret drowning.

The rescue and lifeguard service, recognized as the best in Spain by the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education- organism granted by the Blue Banderas- has made about 39,000 actions, around 14,000 more than last year. Similarly, Ana Mula has granted a large importance to the cleanliness and order of public spaces. In this sense, the “great work of our operators” has put relevance, who have carried out their mission “harshly and fighting the incivism of some.”

He also recalled that the reinforcement of this municipal benefit, with 38 more workers, has resulted, since the general state that the city has presented has been positive: clean and ordered despite the constant transit of people through all public spaces in the city.

Good economic figures

Together with the security, cleaning and order that has prevailed in Fuengirola during the past three months, the mayor has also referred to the “great economic moment” that the municipality lives. With unemployment figures below 5% in proportion to the population; 5% more opening license applications, compared to the previous year; and, especially, with the average levels of hotel occupancy, which according to the employer of the AEHCOS sector, have exceeded 90% during the months of July and August, led the town this concept throughout the coast of the sun.

They are parameters that, according to Ana Mula, show that Fuengirola is an attractive destination to travel with family and have a good time. Thus, it has also related the important number of public activities proposed by the Consistory to boost the life of the town during the months of greater influx.

Specifically, more than a hundred all kinds and aimed at all audiences, which have meant the participation of more than 75,000 people.

“This successful way of projecting Fuengirola in the rest of the world we have also extended to sport, through our Fuengirola-Higuerón training center. About twenty NBA stars enjoyed our town, for four years followed, and they were exercised again in these modern and first level facilities. The German team also did, which in the end was proclaimed by Europe Mula referring to the two struts of the International Projection Plan of the municipality.

Finally, Mula has involved all the inhabitants of the town in these “magnificent results” and has made them responsible for such success. At the same time, he has encouraged them to continue collaborating with the municipality to “continue building together the new Fuengirola that we all want.”
