Fuengirola celebrates the European #beactive Sports Week with a battery of healthy activities from September 23 to 30

9/9/2025 – The Councilor for Sports of the City of Fuengirola, Julio Rodríguez, reported this morning of the European Sports Week #Beactive, which will take place from September 23 to 30 and that will include more than twenty healthy activities that will have as its epicenter the Plaza Pedro Cuevas de los Boliches, where they will be offered daily, both in the morning and afternoon, different classes Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Zumba or maintenance gymnastics, among others. The tigner of the T, with Paddel Surf in Family and Night Spinning Marathon on the 26th, as well as Fuengirola Free Area and the Elola and Santa Fe stages, will also be scenarios of the event.

“Next week it will be very special in Fuengirola. It is the week Be Active, a European initiative to which the Superior Sports Council adheres, where more than 39 countries during those 7 days will try to achieve the goal of avoiding sedentary lifestyle, going out to the street to practice healthy habits and playing sports,” Rodriguez explained, noting that “last year the experience was very satisfactory and we want to participate this year. Developed a program thinking about each and every one of the abilities of people, of the different age margins, from the little ones to the elderly, and we want it to be a great sport party throughout the week ”.

Thus, as Rodríguez explained, the activities will begin on the 22nd in Pedro Cuevas Square, where in the morning seniors will be held (9:00 hours), maintenance (10:00) and senior class on the beach (11:00), offered by technicians of the Department of Sports. In the afternoon, the Viva Gym gym will offer Zumba classes (7:30 p.m.).

On Tuesday, September 23, Pedro Cuevas Square will host classes taught by technicians from the Department of Sports, such as Pilates (9:00), senior citizens (10:00) and again Pilates (11:00); While, in the afternoon, there will be D-Pump classes (7:30 p.m.) that will be offered by Dianoa Training.

The next day, on Wednesday 24, Pedro Cuevas square will be dedicated in the morning to the Qi Gong, with classes at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 offered by Rocío Pérez. In the afternoon, GMIND Pilates, Yoga and Taichí classes offered by the Gymnasio Gym will develop.

On Thursday, September 26, the Department of Sports will offer Pilates classes (9:00), elderly (10:00) and again Pilates (11:00); In the afternoon there will be Zumba sessions (19:30) offered by the local gym Coliseum Sport Center.

On Friday 27, sports activities will be transferred to the ESPIGÓN DE LA T, where from 5:30 p.m. a day of Paddle Surf to Family organized by Santa Costa Club will take place and at 7:30 p.m.

In addition, on Saturday 27, starting at 9:30 am, a third -age hiking activity will be developed that will depart from Pedro Cuevas Square to go to the Sender of the Sea. A women’s football tournament and an international hockey tournament organized by the Lions Club, at Santa Fe Stadium, will also be played.

To finish the European Sports Week #Beactive, on Sunday 28 three activities will be held: the III Soccer Fair Cup ‘Pedro Cuevas’, the second day of the International Hockey Tournament and the second remaining running, which will run through Fuengirola free area.

“With this initiative we seek to promote healthy lifestyle habits, take people out to the streets to practice sports, that they are happy and generate endorphins. We also want to make visible the work that our technicians and monitors do of the directed activities of the City of Fuengirola, going out so that everyone can see how they give their classes, as well as give visibility to our gyms and private centers, which I also do an important function.
