8/27/2025 – From September 1 to 20, the Colors Building will host the exhibition 3:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“From next Monday we will be able to enjoy a fantastic exhibition on the occasion of the Calapop in the Color Building, where we will be able to see ten original plates of Álvaro Ortega, graphic designer, illustrator and responsible since 2024 of everything that entails the poster shop of the Calapop festival,” Romero said.
Álvaro Ortega is considered one of the most unique cartoonists of the current scene. He began his career in the comic inspired by reference authors such as Hergé, Jacobs, Chaland or Daniel Torres, within a clear, expressive and considered as canonical style.
His artistic evolution has led him to travel to more realistic forms and with greater plastic wealth, impregnated with direct allusions to pop aesthetics. Ortega conceives the vignette as a popular expression tool, linked to a society that constantly generates new cultural icons.
In ‘Alvaroscope’, the artist reviews the essences of pop through original reconstructions of those years marked by the Beatlemaniac effervescence. At the same time, he moves that brilliant aesthetic to contemporary reality, often hard or even depressing, achieving a unique contrast: his works are humorous and, at the same time, deeply beautiful and transcendent.
The result are illustrations capable of starting a smile while dying the daily landscape of color and reflection, confirming Álvaro Ortega as an essential creator of our time.
