The City Council organizes the program of sports activities `Fuengirola in form´ to promote healthy life habits
More than twenty appointments for all ages and physical condition have been planned in different municipal equipment and outdoor spaces in the city in September. Among them, free sports classes in the street, Spinning Night Marathon, the Mile Pedro Cuevas, or, as a novelty, a solidarity paddle tournament, among other proposals
8/26/2025 – The City Council will launch the third edition of the `Fuengirola initiative in a way that aims to promote healthy lifestyle habits through sport. The program, which covers the entire month of September, includes 21 different proposals, Spinning Night Marathon, the Mile Pedro Cuevas, the World Wellness Weekend, or, as a novelty, a solidarity paddle tournament, among others. This has been announced today by Mayor Ana Mula, who has been accompanied by the mayor responsible for this municipal area, Julio Rodríguez.
“Fuengirola is a great city where you enjoy a great quality of life. Thus, in recent years we have reconverted in a unique enclave on the coast of the Sun Bet on the promotion of healthy habits among Fuengiroleños and thus get high well -being in the city, ”explained the governor.
In this way, the objective of `Fuengirola in a way is to encourage Fuengiroleños to practice healthy lifestyle habits, through physical activities or sports initiatives in the month of return to routine par excellence. Therefore, the Department of Sports will promote different modalities and activities so that neighbors can learn about the different sports alternatives offered in September in the town.
Thus, the planning of this edition includes: the Children’s Fishing Workshop (September 5); the cycling route to Toro (September 7); 3 × 3 basketball trneus (September 7); the Height Fishing Championship `Pedro Cuevas´ Memorial (from September 11 to 14); Popular Games Fair (September 13); Playa Volleyball Tournament (September 13); Children’s Fishing Workshop (September 14); ‘World Wellness Weekend’ (September 19); I Solidarity Paddle Tournament (September 19-21); Manuel Vidarte Memorial of Hockey Patines (September 19 to 21); Inclusive Sports Day (September 20); Milla Pedro Cuevas (September 20); the III Fair Cup Football `Pedro Cuevas´ (September 21); Week #beactive (from September 23 to 25); a family surfing meeting (September 26); a spinning night marathon (September 26); Hiking ‘Sendero del Mar’ (September 27); the III Women’s Soccer Fair ‘Rafael Pino’ (September 28); Final of the III Fair Cup ‘Pedro Cuevas’ (September 28); International Hockey Tournament (September 27 and 28); Running (September 28).
All of them will be held in public spaces such as Pedro Cuevas Square, La Playa, Plaza de España, Free Fuengirola, El Paseo Marítimo or in Municipal Sports Facilities. All with the impulse of the Department of Sports with the support, in some cases, of the Provincial Council, and the support of different sports clubs and gyms of our town.
“We are appreciated by their involvement in this project to facilitate the Fuegiroleños to practice sports or give them the opportunity, in some cases, to know some of them. We encourage all Fuestiroleños to start the return to the course practicing sports with any of these activities, in the municipal schools or in the clubs of our city. The exercise and maintain good habits is essential to have a healthy life and have a quality of life. From the City Council, ”said Mula.
