Fuengirola City Council mobilized more than 70 million euros in strategic projects during 2025

The remodeling of the Santa Fe de Los Boliches Stadium and the creation of an underground parking lot will soon go out to tender

During this year, work has begun on two Municipal Support Housing developments, which will provide a response to 39 families and young people in the city.12/11/2025. The Fuengirola City Council has mobilized more than 70 million euros in strategic projects during 2025. This has been highlighted by the Councilor for Infrastructure, Rocío Arriaga, who has also made reference to the main task of another of her delegations, such as Housing, with the deployment of the Municipal Access Plan to this fundamental good.

“2025 has been a decisive year for the promotion of the New Fuengirola. As the mayor recently announced, we have processed the file for the drafting of the project and the construction of the new Santa Fe de Los Boliches Stadium and the creation of a parking lot under its floor. It is an electoral commitment whose tender we will publish soon and whose value amounts to 50 million euros. This amount added to the 20 million in infrastructure that we are building right now and those that we have put into service during the current year, results the 70 million euros of projects launched,” explained the mayor.

In this way, among the other actions are the works of Mercacentro, the Day Center, the Youth Center in the Fuengirola Free Area, the Gloria Fuertes Library, the two new multifunctional rooms of the Elola Sports Complex or the Torreblanca Nursery, among others.

Likewise, as far as Housing is concerned, the City Council has started the construction of two new Municipal Support developments to offer affordable rental apartments to 39 families and young people from Fuengirola who have difficulties affording this fundamental good on the free market. Fifteen of them in Los Pacos – whose works have already been completed – and 24 in Carvajal.

On the other hand, the City Council has adhered to Decree 1/2025 of February 24 on urgent measures in housing matters of the Junta de Andalucía, which facilitates the promotion of Municipal Support properties on land classified as equipment.

Likewise, the councilor has taken stock of the activity of the Urban Planning Area, which she also directs. In this regard, he stated that the department has registered just over 120 applications for major construction licenses, as well as 3,139 responsible declarations and 55 for first occupation.

“2025 has been a year of compliance, in relation to the strategic infrastructures that Mayor Ana Mula promised to promote in her electoral program. Also of confirming the enormous investment interest that Fuengirola arouses and that it is increasingly a more desired place to live, based on the incessant activity of Urban Planning technicians. And, of course, it has been a fundamental period to promote one of the great objectives of the Government team: to facilitate access to housing for the Fuengirola residents who need it most”, Arriaga has summarized.

Likewise, this department of the City Council has processed nearly 2,500 responsible declarations for minor works, 197 technical inspections of buildings over 50 years old and has processed five detailed studies, as well as three innovations of elements of the General Urban Planning Plan.
