Fuengirola City Council enables a free bus service to El Esparragal Park during the Romería del Rosario
The special bus service will link the city center with the pilgrimage every 30 minutes, from 9:30 to 9:30 a.m. to the first leg; And back, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
9/25/2025 – The City of Fuengirola will enable a free bus service to the El Esparragal Park, in the neighboring municipality of Mijas, on the occasion of the Romería del Rosario, which is held this Sunday, September 28. This has been announced today by the Councilor for Mobility, Isabel González, who has invited all Fuenters and visitors to join this popular celebration of veneration to the patron saint of the city making use of public transport. The special bus service during the pilgrimage will link the city center with the Parque del Esparragal every 30 minutes, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. to the first leg; and back, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In this way, as González explained, “to facilitate the displacement of the Fuengiroleños to the Parque del Esparragal, the City Council will launch, one more year, a special bus service, free for all, which will connect the El Esparragal Park with the center of El Esparragal throughout Sunday with the center of El Esparragal with the center of Fuengirola every half hour.”
This special service will consist of two buses that will make the journey every thirty minutes. In this way, vehicles can take to go from Fuengirola to Esparragal in the following locations: Avenida Condes de San Isidro (Pasaje Camboria – Plaza Reyes Católicos – City Council – National Police); Santa Amalia Avenue (in front of the Mosque); PASTO DE PONIENTE – Variant access (in front of Real Estate Skandia) and Parque de El Esparragal. The exits from the Pasaje Camboria stop will take place every 30 minutes from 9:30 in the morning until 9:30 p.m.
Once in the Mijeña recreation zone, attendees will be able to live the usual day of coexistence. Due to the time of the year in which it is celebrated, it will not be allowed to perform fires or barbecues. Yes there will be beverage bar, which this time will be for the benefit of AFA.
The buses back from El Esparragal to the center of Fuengirola will hold stops at the following points: Parque del Esparragal, Santa Amalia Avenue (Mosque), Avenida Condes de San Isidro (in front of the National Police – in front of the Local Police – Lepanto), Avenida Matías Saenz de Teajada (Moreno Rivera) and Avenida Condes de San Isidro (Camboria Passage). Bus exits will take place every thirty minutes from ten in the morning to eleven o’clock at night.
To conclude, Isabel González has invited “everyone to make use of this free transportation service for the pilgrimage, enjoy a day of coexistence in El Esparragal Park accompanying our patron saint and do it in the most comfortable way possible, which is by bus.”
