The Fuengirola City Council advances in the works of creation of a day center for seniors in El Boquetillo
They are financed with European funds and constitute the fulfillment of an electoral commitment of the mayor. The works, which already reach 50% of its execution, consist of the adaptation of a municipal premises on Menorca Street and will be able to serve 40 dependent people
9/15/2025 – The City of Fuengirola is advancing in the works of creation of a day center for seniors in El Boquetillo. The works, which have already reached 50% of their execution consist of the adaptation of a municipal ownership premises located in the bass of the Elola complex and will be able to serve 40 people dependent on the city. This project, which is a commitment from the government team, is funded by a subsidy granted by the Junta de Andalucía from the European Union within the framework of the recovery, transformation and resilience

“The attention to our elders is primary. We are the Andalusian city with the greatest life expectancy, according to the National Statistics Institute, and that is because we offer excellent services since you breathe here a great quality of life. Therefore, one of my priorities is to continue giving our elders.
The surface of the premises in which it is standing is 626.55 square meters and occupies part of Miguel Bueno and Menorca streets-on the bass of the Elola complex, next to the possession of the mayor of El Boquetillo. The basic project provides for the provision of just over 550 square meters useful to offer care and accompaniment service to about 40 higher in Fuengirola.
The constructive document, prepared by the Consistory, provides for the provision of two living rooms, one of occupational therapy, a dining room, a stay for rehabilitation work, a kitchen, as well as toilets, locker room, storage rooms and those of the operation and maintenance of this kind of facilities.
The works are being carried out by the Maracof company for an amount of 1,025,255.73 euros, about 200,000 euros less than initially budgeted in the bidding process. The execution period is 240 days.
It is a project financed by the European Union within the framework of the recovery, transformation and resilience- NEXTGENTION-EU Plan.
